1. Engine Running Louder Than Usual. Mercedes ML350 is notorious for the problems causing the engine to run louder than usual. In many 2005 – 2011 models, some common problems cause the engine to rattle and rumble. While other Mercedes have engine problems, the ML350 has a few that are unique to it. The 400 A fuse is from the pre-fusebox to the alternator, protecting a 35 mm² wire. The glow output stage is powered from a joint to this 35 mm² wire. This feed wire itself is 10 mm² and likely catches fire before the 400 A fuse blows up. Again one could blame the design but blaming the design does not make the problem go away. The problem I am seeing is engine idling/revs behaviour, from cold it idles at just over 900 rpm and won't drop until a good 15 minutes of driving. When it does eventually drop to just over 800 rpm it will on occasion sit back at 900 even though the engine has warmed up. But to test, or to get the indicators to work in an emergency pinch disconnect the flasher switch and jumper pins 15 and 49 on the connector, pin 49 supplies 12volts to the directional indicator relay.
